Ball Wavimeter
Sugawara’s Ball Wavimeter (wavometer) measures surface waviness and roundness of the spheres used in ball bearings with high precision and with the speed required for practical application. The sensor detects the speed of vibration of a rotating ball under inspection and provides data on waviness (vibration per angular speed) and data on roundness by canceling out the spindle vibration component.
Features
- High-precision measurement: Practical measurement accuracy of 10 nm.
- Dedicated compact speed sensor with flat characteristics (10 times greater sensitivity than laser Doppler vibrometer) originally developed and manufactured by Sugawara.
- Speedy measurement: Real-time measurement (time required for race setting: 10 sec or less).
- Capability of measuring extremely small rings for miniature bearings (measurement of outer rings as small as 3.5 mm in inner diameter).
- Dedicated Pusher for stable measurement.
- Replaceable Arbor for measurement of rings of different sizes.
- Measurement unit: nmWCLA, nmPC, nm, nm/rad, etc..
- Measurement results are displayed directly on the screen as numerical data in L, M, H frequency ranges, polar-coordinate graphs, etc..
- Desktop configuration for space-saving installation.
- Equipped with a large easy-to-view color LCD.
- Optional printer for output of hard copy of screen display.
- Much cheaper than similar products of equivalent performance.
- Race Wavimeter
Sugawara’s Race Wavimeter (wavometer) measures waviness and roundness of the race surface of inner and outer rings used in ball bearings with high precision and with the speed required for practical application. The sensor detects the speed of vibration of a rotating inner or outer ring under inspection and provides data on waviness (vibration per angular speed) and data on roundness by canceling out the spindle vibration component.

Micro mass measuring instrument
Sugawara’s Micro mass measuring instrument allows a measurement of mass for micro work pieces. Using a regularly changing frequency of vibration, the system searches for sympathetic vibration. Since sympathetic vibration varies according to the mass of the work piece, the instrument allows for a measurement of micro mass on a work piece.
FEATURES
- Practical measurement resolution: 1µg.
- Able to set the amplitude of vibration.
- Changing the driving unit provides a wide range of measurement.
- Allows measurement of a small ball for a miniature ball bearing assembly.
